The Ransom Notes will be holding auditions for male singers in early September!! Audition for the opportunity to be part of the premier a cappella group at The University of Texas at Austin. There are three spaces available for Baritone/Bass. Please contact Samantha, the Director by emailing director@ransomnotes.org for more information. The countdown to the end of the semester has officially begun, and so has the countdown to the Ransom Notes End-of-the-Year Concert!! Come celebrate the last day of classes by enjoying the debut of three new songs and your favorite Ransom Notes classics! Also, join us as we say goodbye to Tom Roduta and Paul Marbach, our two graduating members. We’ll be selling CD’s and t-shirts at the merchandise table. We’ll see you all on May 7th!

Haiti Benefit: Gigglepants and Ransom Notes

WHEN: Friday, February 5th, 7pm

WHERE: Welch 3.502

COST: Minimum suggested donation of $3 (if you are able, donate more! All proceeds will be donated to reputable organizations aiding the relief effort in Haiti)

INFO: The Liberal Arts Council is proud to host The Ransom Notes and Gigglepants Improv in a joint performance to support the people of Haiti following January’s devastating earthquake. The show will last around an hour to an hour and a half. Please come out to support the people of Haiti while having a great time!

Seeking Male Singers

This spring, we will be looking for one male singer to add to the Premiere Co-Ed A Cappella group at the University of Texas at Austin. This audition will occur during the second week of the upcoming semester, and membership will take effect immediately. Rehearsals are Sunday, 8pm-10pm, and Thursday, 7pm-9pm. This member must also be able to commit to many gigs throughout the semester, mandatory concerts on February 26th and May 7th, and our amazing TOUR in New Orleans over Spring Break. The Ransom Notes is a major commitment, but the rewards are numerous: the fellowship of an incredible group of talented musicians, the status on campus as the Premiere Co-Ed A Cappella group at the University of Texas at Austin, and the fun of concerts, gigs, and tours, along with many other intangibles. Not a male singer, but know one? Let them know about this great opportunity!

If you are interested in auditioning, please come to info sessions, which will occur early in the week of auditions. All audition days and rooms are still TBD, so check back here OR sign up for the mailing list in the “Follow Us” section of this website. We don’t send out much mail, usually just notifications for auditions, concerts, and CD releases.

Ransom Notes is having its annual winter concert on December 4th, 2009. Come hear some great new songs and classic Ransom Notes hits. It’s also the last day of classes, so celebrate with amazing music. Ticket prices are TBA, but we’ll let you know ASAP! We’ll have t-shirts and CDs at our merchandise table!
